LESSON 6

Big objects over two squares

Mae's Detective School · Detective Starter Kit (10 free cases)
Big furniture likes to sprawl. Give it both squares.

Rule 2: an object drawn over a line between two squares covers both squares.

'Beside' a big object means next to either of its squares, in the same room. 'On or in' means one of its own squares. A big object you can't stand on blocks both squares.

How to spot it

  • An object picture that crosses a square line.
  • A clue about a sofa, a long table or a big hive.

Mae's tip

Mark both squares of a big object before you read the clues about it.

In your Detective's Dictionary

BesideRight next to it: up, down, left or right. Same room.
On or inSitting on it, on it or in it: one of its own squares.
